Ruby Elise York was born in Los Angeles, CA. She is the middle child of Professional Musician and x-band member of the "Byrds" John York and Nadia Foley, an Environmental Solar Consultant. She graduated high school at the early age of 16, pursuing film acting immediately, however she grew up acting in theatre groups, dancing ballet, and playing various instruments such as the the cello and the piano. At a young age she was pushed towards a career in music but she decided that she would rather pursue acting.
