This movie starred a young Dorothy Dandridge in her first starring role in a sepia film. He went on to enlist in the Army in 1941, and served with distinction in the European Theater. He was decorated for bravery and was wounded in the Battle of St. Vith (more commonly known as the "Battle of the Bulge"). He was married to Lucie Dlugi and had four children. He died on August 25, 1988 in Loma Linda, California, USA.
