Marci's parents took her to see plenty of musical Theatre growing up, and as a child she listened to show tunes and books-on-tape on record player. She was born in Philadelphia to an electrical engineer father and school nurse mother. Growing up mainly in Northern NJ, the importance of education was instilled in her and her two younger brothers lives, though as a child she was often daydreaming in school. As it turns out she isn't the only actor in the family... Even her grandfather played King Solomon in a production at his Masonic Lodge. Arts and culture were always a big part of their family too and all 3 children learned to play various musical instruments. Though her voice lessons stuck more than than the piano or guitar, her middle brother was the most talented musician of the lot playing Saxophone, guitar, keyboard and anything else he got his hands on. She was in her first play at 13, a JCC Production of Once Upon a Mattress in middle school. For seven years she attended private Orthodox Yeshiva Day School. She learned about Jewish studies, how to speak Hebrew, wore long skirts and played lots of kick ball. Eventually she left private school and attended public high school where she participated in Chorus, a madrigal singing group and was in all of the school plays. She was involved with plays at Rutgers as well, and she studied Theatre, religion and English. She did community Theatre after College for many years and was part of a murder mystery dinner Theatre Group. She even studied a fifth year at Drexel University with what began as a Masters in a different subject altogether though turned into finishing the year of schooling studying Film and TV Production. She traveled for 5 weeks in Europe after school with friends. She worked many different jobs including being a Kelly girl -- administrative assistant, working on a trading floor, for a paralegal, as a waitress, a camp counselor, a Hebrew School Teacher, as an admin. assistant/office manager at a few Synagogues. Later, she got a certificate in Radio Broadcasting and became a News Anchor and reporter for 5.5 years at various stations in New Jersey, Delaware and NYC. Eventually she left the media side of things, though is sometimes cast as a reporter. She worked as a tour guide in New York City for many years. No matter where the roads to her career & future led, she wound up turning back to acting. And it wasn't easy. But often the life of an actor or any artist is more about the journey and the curves in the road than the telling of the actual tale, though we might wish the opposite were true.
