Packing bags and working construction as a child is where Lester Greene developed his strong work ethic. He was born in Germany and raised in Texas. Lester was always a terrific athlete. He ran track and played basketball in his spare time and like most kids, he wanted to play in the NBA. Those dreams would quickly disappear after he refused an offer to play for the varsity basketball team. Lester knew that playing professional basketball was a long shot so he transitioned to writing. He graduated with a degree in English/Journalism from Queens College, but then his life took a drastic turn. He witnessed a murder that caused him to rethink his mission in life. Instead of becoming an English teacher, Greene decided to write about that murder. He went on to write four rap albums before calling it quits because rapping had no longer fulfilled him. Lester then started working as a bus driver for MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) in New York City. He drove buses for 11 years, but he never felt fulfilled doing that either, leaving his job for greener pastures. Greene had a friend named Henry who suggested that he pursue acting, considering he was already a natural performer from his music days. Greene began doing background work until he saw Larenz Tate up close and personal. Tate's acting had inspired him to take acting more seriously so he began auditioning and booking roles in student films, short films, feature films and national television shows. Lester has studied with the likes of Alec Baldwin (Southampton Theatre), Peter Miner (Terry Schreiber Studios), Matt Newton and Mary Boyer. Lester Greene's second act is now in full swing having already worked with Rza, 50 Cent and Omari Hardwick. Greene won best actor for his role in Driving Force at the Atlantic City Cinefest Film Festival, and he won the Actors' Showdown Monologue Competition at the Las Vegas Black Film Festival. He acted in the sequel female boxing film Lola 2 produced by Antoine Allen/Monica Floyd starring Taja V. Simpson, Claressa Shields, Roy Jones Jr. and Tamala Jones. He worked on another movie with Monica Floyd starring Essence Atkins, Tony Rock and Torrei Hart called A Screenshot to Santa. As if that wasn't enough, Lester landed several speaking roles on television shows like Power, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, The Luckiest Guys on the Lower East Side, 50 Central, Gotham and Rachael Ray. He has also landed speaking roles in commercials for Chase, Rogaine, AAO, FYI, Philips, Amazon, MTB Bank, Citizen Watch, Peeps Delights, BuzzFeed, Boost Mobile, Crown Royal, ESPN and Brooks. Independently, Greene has starred in and produced six films, two of which aired on CBS/ABC through the African American Short Films program. His last four films have received distribution through AngerMan Distribution under his production company, Lubey Jube Productions. He even wrote and published a book: Act Like You Love Yourself. Lester Greene hosted Out On The Front Lines Radio Show on iHeart Radio, and he interviewed Emmy Winners Carl Buehl and Diego Silva Acevedo as well as Hollywood Executives Vanzil Burke (celebrity manager), Jeff Hamilton (celebrity jacket designer), George Vincent, Harrison Page, Alycia Cooper and Phil Allocco. Lester co-hosts The LV Magazine Podcast with Felicia Johnson. Lester booked a role in the series show: Heaux Phase (coming to the For Us By Us Network) and as it stands, he is in pre-production for the feature film Driving Force directed by Antoine Allen. When Lester is not in front of the camera, he enjoys staying at home with his family and writing movie/music reviews on Medium.com. He loves watching television, taking long walks with his partner, reading scripts, exercising, listening to music and treating people with kindness. Lester's goal is to act and produce films and television shows full time.
