Leslie Nielsen

Leslie William Nielsen was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and raised in Tulita (formerly Fort Norman), Northwest Territories. His mother, Mabel Elizabeth (Davies), was Welsh. His father, Ingvard Eversen Nielsen, was a Danish-born Mountie and a strict disciplinarian. Leslie studied at the Academy of Radio Arts in Toronto before moving on to New York's Neighborhood Playhouse. His acting career started at a much earlier age when he was forced to lie to his father in order to avoid severe punishment. Leslie starred in over fifty films and many more television films. One of his two brothers became the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. On October 10, 2002, he was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada (OC) in recognition of his contributions to the film and television industries. On November 28, 2010, Leslie Nielsen died at age 84 of pneumonia and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

As a result, she writes characters who battle overwhelming odds, whether it be institutionalized prejudice, a Cat 5 hurricane, or their own rogue cells. Most recently, she won the Black List x Hornitos "Take Your Shot" Fellowship Grant to direct a proof-of-concept short for her award-winning feature drama "Salt of the Earth." She is a 2021 Black List Google Assistant Storytelling Fellow, a Stowe Story Labs Development Grant recipient, an Athena TV Writers Lab Fellow, and has been published in the New York Times and O: the Oprah Magazine, among others. Leslie lives in New Orleans where she finds untold stories on every street corner. In her spare time, she boxes.

Leslie Osborne

Born Leslie Hiler in Long Beach, California, Leslie moved to Arvada, Colorado when she was four years old. Growing up in the Denver suburb, she was active in professional theater, performing both at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the now defunct Country Dinner Playhouse. She graduated from Pomona Sr. High School and moved to Los Angeles to attend USC as a theater major and Russian language minor. Leslie has worked at Sony in television marketing and distribution; at Disney in their Consumer Products division; and for Paramount Pictures in special programming. She also helped produce the acclaimed independent documentary "Official Rejection" and is co-president of production company Conspicuous Pictures.
