Leann O'Kasi is an actress of Nigerian and Irish parentage. She was born in Dublin and grew up in London from the age of 5. Her first screen role was appearing as Laila, the female lead in writer Raisah Ahmed's First Light/Creative Scotland short film, Last Order also starring Gangs of New York actor Gary Lewis. Last Order premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival, culminating in a showcase screening at BAFTA London. She played Ms Martens in an episode of the BAFTA winning BBC sitcom Rab. In 2019, Leann appeared in award-winning short film Soul of A Black Woman, premiering at the Atlanta Urban Mediamakers Film Festival, where it won 'Best International Afrofuturism Short.' The film had it's UK Premiere at the London Short Series Festival and opened Women of The Lens Film Festival in London that same year. In 2020, the film was official selection for the San Francisco Black Film Festival and the Charlotte Black Film Festival where it won 'Best Score.' It was official selection for the 2020 BAFTA qualifying British Urban Film Festival on Apple TV. In 2021, Leann appeared in episode 1 of the second series of ITV drama 'Innocent' starring Katherine Kelly, Shaun Dooley and Jamie Bamber.
