Dave Cole was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. As a varsity athlete he lettered in football, basketball and track in high school and track in college. His high school shot-put record stood for fifteen years before it was finally broken. After high school, Dave went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs, and married his high school sweetheart. He then spent 22 years in government work, serving as a city manager in Wisconsin, Illinois and California. His acting career began as a stage actor with Milwaukee-area theater groups in the late 1970s. His interest in serious acting developed when he played the role of Jameson in a rare community theater production of the Rod Serling drama "Patterns." But Dave's attraction to movie making began in the mid-1980s during his service as city manager of the Chicago suburb of Glencoe, Illinois, when he assisted the location and production crews planning the shoots for several feature films in Glencoe, including the John Hughes classics "Sixteen Candles", "She's Having a Baby", "Ferris Buehler's Day Off" and "Uncle Buck." But it wasn't until 1999, after he had moved to California, that Dave's first real break in the movie business occured. Writer/producer/director Gary Conway brought Dave into his production of "Woman's Story" during the filming of flashback sequences on California's central coast. After shooting on the film wrapped, Gary asked Dave to assist him in his effort to develop a new film production and distribution venture. Dave then spent the next two years working closely with Gary and learning the details of feature film production and marketing. As he became more involved in the world of film, Dave made his "big screen" debut as an extra in the Sandra Bullock movie "Murder by Numbers", and later shot a scene as an extra with Chad Smith in "Promised Land." Ironically, Dave landed his first speaking role as a film studio executive in "Creatures of Hollywood." His first supporting role came shortly after, as Archbishop Juan Rodriguez in "The Exorcist Chronicles." This was quickly followed by his first major supporting role as the father of the lead actress in "Banana Moon", in which he also had the opportunity to assist in production. Since then Dave has portrayed a father again in the History Channel's "In the Shadows of War" and as the Mayor in "Neptune Cowboy." In the meantime, Dave continues to actively pursue acting roles in feature films, as well as involvement in film production and distribution, while he and his wife enjoy the spectacular Pacific sunsets from their home on California's beautiful central coast.
