David Holt is an American actor born and raised in Roswell, Georgia to parents Dave and Carolyn Holt. He has one younger sister, a college professor by the name of Courtney Holt McDaniel. Holt's mother and father are from Easton, Pennsylvania and Fort Knox, Kentucky respectively. His ancestry consists of Dutch, Irish, and Native American (Cherokee) heritage. David attended Western Kentucky University where his love of acting really took hold. He graduated cum laude with a degree in Theatre. While at college, David transformed into several different roles for one production in Seneca's version of Oedipus, then portrayed William Burroughs in Beat (a play about the Beat authors of the 60's), and most notably worked with legendary theatrical director John Doyle in William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. In total, Holt appeared in more than 15 shows before making the move to New York in 2003. In New York, Holt continued to pursue theatre. He played many different roles on stage mainly doing classical roles Off-Broadway. In 2010 Holt decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue film and television. David is best known for his diversity of roles and the eclectic nature of those characters. He played a typical college kid in the horror film Scalp (2009), then a wheelchair bound muscular dystrophy man going on his first date in Rolling Romance (2013), and next playing a champion marathon runner in the short film _Blur_. He recently held the role of young David in the 2018 film Father starring Eric Roberts, Paul Sorvino and Mischa Barton. Holt has recently been gaining notice for playing more western and southern roles similar to his upbringing.

On graduating he moved to London to pursue a career as a versatile character in TV, film, theatre, radio, and as a voice artist and writer.
