Devan is an actor, known for Simon Peter Ninakku Vendi (1988), Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) and Saaho (2019).
Devan was raised in the small island town of Anacortes, Washington, where he grew up entertaining his peers in the classroom and on the field of athletics. His talents earned him a full-ride scholarship to play football at the University of Oregon, where he would go on to garner school records in the stat books and become known for his humorous interviews and locker room antics. Given his boisterous personality and proclivity for storytelling, it wasn't long until Devan found his truth in acting. He blazed himself a career as a multi-faceted character actor utilizing his blue-collar work ethic and stubborn determination. Having displayed the ability to portray such an eclectic array of characters from vicious assassins to lovable superheroes has helped propel Devan's career and allowed him to escape the stereotypical confines adopted by most actors of his physical prowess. He is a rare blend of talent possessing the personality to match his size and passion.
Shortly after his first audition, Devan landed the hero role of the L'il Chef on a "Dan-o-nino Yogurt" commercial. His engaging personality and natural ability won over the producers of the feature film "Jesus Henry Christ" shortly thereafter, and he was cast as the younger version of the lead character Henry James Herman. It was a natural transition for Devan to book the series regular role of Adam in the HBO Canada series "The Yard". The character Adam is a precocious and communicative kid, not unlike Devan himself. Devan has subsequently appeared in episodes of "The Next Star", "Really Me", "Flashpoint", "Odd Squad" and "Hannibal" and has recently worked on the feature "Group Home" in the principal role of Jason. When an opportunity to audition for voice work arose, Devan dove right in and booked the voice of Rubble on "Paw Patrol", and Frankie on "Ella the Elephant". He has gone on to voice Sammy in "Playdate", Tommy Tibble in "Arthur", Jackson in "Creative Galaxy", Daniel in "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood", Night Ninja in "PJ Masks", Ranger Roger in "Space Ranger Roger", and of course Charlie in Wishenpoof! Devan is a multi-nominated actor in animation and on-camera work, and has taken home winning trophies in both 2015 and 2016. He was most recently nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in the voice category. As a well rounded and grounded kid, Devan has lots of interests, but his passion for acting trumps them all. Devan Coulter is known for 10/31: Part 3 (2022).
Devan was born to David and Denece Gerlach, a computer engineer and film graduate respectively. The momentous event transpired at Fort Polk (Louisiana), however the majority of her childhood was spent across Texas. Though she excelled in school, she would often forgo the trivialities of homework for the chance to instead watch movies - her passion. From a very young age, she knew that she wanted to be in them, so she made her acting debut in 1999, appearing as Kate in Cyprus Creek Elementary's rendition of the hit orphan musical, "Annie". The acclaimed production earned such noted criticisms as: "Look at my baby!" and "Sweet beer nuts, that is a loud spotlight." Following the advent of star-studded remake Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000), Devan's freshly inspired tastes began to "shift" into more serious "directions". And as she entered high school, her family of four (mother, father, older brother Shae, and self) expanded with the addition of three foster brothers (Quinn, Keith, and Farrell) and a foster sister (Kelsey), rendering her the unfortunate baby of six turbulent children. She was soon graduated from Krum High, simultaneously obtaining a cosmetology license, whereupon she worked as a hair stylist, a web technician, a student assistant, a waitress, and a film extra while completing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing at the University of North Texas. After handing her diploma to her parents, she took off on a grand adventure to Atlanta to pursue her dreams of working on film sets full-time. She quickly found employment as a background actor, stand in, and production assistant in various departments. She's since been working on a variety of productions from Captain America: Civil War (2016) to Stranger Things (2016) - and nearly everything in between. To most of her family and friends, she is known simply as "Ninja".
